About us

See Lab is a new cultural incubator located in an old school building at The Hague beach, The Netherlands. It emerged from a shared dream to establish a long term working community where professional artist and culture creators with a DIY mentality work both independently and together on art and culture. See Lab hosts 14 affordable workspaces and a project space. It functions as an experimental laboratory for its users by providing testing ground for new ideas and space to explore.

Workspaces —
See Lab

See Lab rents out studios to professional art and culture makers with a ' Do It Yourself ' attitude. A typical studio is 50m2, making it possible to share a room and keep costs low. The studios are located on the ground floor and the first floor of the school building. The layout is designed so the semi-public spaces are located on the ground floor, making them easily accessible and giving it a public character.

In the upcoming two month's See Lab will develop 5 extra artist workspaces in the attic and set up two guest studios . The realisation of the extra artist workspaces and guest studio’s are made possible with the generous financial support of the Municipality of The Hague and Stroom The Hague.

Are you an artist, filmmaker, animator, culture creator with a professional practice and an experimental mindset? And are you interested in this (potential) new workplace that is less than a two minute walk from the beach? Then don’t hesitate to send us your motivation, CV and website and apply!!

Prerequisite for renting one of these studio's is that you're an professional artist recognised by Stroom Den Haag.

Project space —
See Lab

See Lab transformed the former gym of the school building into a project space of more than 130 m2. This project space has an impressively high ceiling, excellent lighting and sound possibilities, and is situated just next to the sea! See Lab intends to make a relevant contribution to The Hague’s artistic climate through its project space program by initiating, producing and hosting interesting small and large scale experimental art exhibitions, presentations, events and artist talks on a regular basis. To stimulate new developments in contemporary art by offering the stage to national and international artists where they can produce and present their work and improve the visibility of their art in society. Besides organising their own program See Lab is open to collaborate with guest curators, guest artists and other international artist run spaces.
