About:
Are you someone from the East living now in the West? Are you someone from the West intrigued about Eastern cultures? Regardless of your background, we aspire to give you a memorable, multi-sensory experience that is a breath of fresh air in your busy life - literally and figuratively! We (a group of Taiwanese artists living in the Netherlands), like many diasporas, are continually exploring questions like “who am I becoming”, “what am I here to do”, and “where or to what do I belong”. But these questions are not unique to diasporas. Everyone at some point(s) in his/her/their life is bound to grapple with such identity questions, especially in today’s globalized world. This program is our contribution to expressing the value of heritage, connection and growth within and between peoples, between the West and the East. The program includes two parts: We begin with a guided walk outside on the beautiful grounds of Zeelab in den Haag with art installations that invite you to become curious, contemplate and make space for inspiration. After the walk, we head into the studio for a performance with cello, dance and lighting that blends western classics with eastern roots and reflects our own progress in forming our identities. It is our hope that the experience will give you abundant energy and inspiration to explore questions relevant to you and find what fulfills you.
